Hydraulic Technician / Hydraulic Engineer

• Diagnose, fault-find and repair hydraulic systems and components.
• Service, maintain and overhaul hydraulic equipment.
• Strip, inspect and rebuild hydraulic components including cylinders, pumps, motors and valves.
• Assemble and test hydraulic systems and equipment.
• Read and interpret hydraulic circuit diagrams, schematics and engineering drawings.
• Carry out pressure testing and hydraulic system testing.
• Identify faults and provide effective technical solutions.
• Assist with hydraulic system modifications and engineering projects.
• Manufacture and install hydraulic hose, pipework and associated components where required.
• Ensure all work is completed accurately and to the required quality standards.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation relating to work carried out.
• Work to the high standards expected within the aerospace and defence sectors.
• Work independently as well as contributing effectively within a small team.

You will ideally have:

• Previous experience working with hydraulic systems.
• Experience fault-finding and diagnosing hydraulic systems.
• Good mechanical engineering knowledge.
• A methodical approach to troubleshooting and problem solving.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• The ability to work accurately and independently.
• A reliable, professional and conscientious approach to your work.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a small team.

The following experience would be advantageous:

• Experience within aerospace, defence or another highly regulated engineering environment.
• Hydraulic system design or modification.
• Hydraulic cylinder manufacture, repair or overhaul.
• Hydraulic pumps, motors and valves.
• Hydraulic testing and commissioning.
• Electro-hydraulic or proportional hydraulic systems.
• Hydraulic pipework and hose assembly.
• Relevant engineering qualifications or apprenticeship.
• Experience working to quality standards and controlled engineering documentation.
